SAY NO TO GOV. HOCHUL'S CAP-AND-INVEST PROPOSAL THAT WILL RAISE ENERGY COSTS FOR ALL NEW YORKERS

As if the cost of congestion pricing wasn't enough of a burden for drivers to bear entering Manhattan, a new proposal being advanced by Governor Hochul will cost New Yorkers more to fuel their cars and heat their homes. The plan called “Cap-And-Invest” would raise gas prices by at least 12 cents per gallon next year and 22 cents per gallon by 2027, according to an analysis by Upstate United an advocacy coalition made up of business and trade organizations from across Upstate New York. Consumers would also pay more for home heating fuels including natural gas, propane and oil. As with congestion pricing, the increased costs to transport food and other goods and services borne by commercial and manufacturing businesses will be passed on to taxpayers as well. This proposal is a direct attack on the wallets of hardworking New Yorkers and another example of the progressive agenda out of Albany that's becoming more and more unbearable for hardworking New Yorkers struggling to afford the increased costs they are placing on us.

Please sign my petition below to tell Governor Hochul, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and all our State Lawmakers to end this ill-conceived proposal immediately.
